Dressing Room Roundup: Mother's Day Weekend at Ann Taylor Factory Stores

Mamas, daughters, sisters, friends-- the store set at Ann Taylor Factory is one of the best I've ever seen right now. The store is just gorgeous, bursting with color, and my favorite thing ever: Pattern Mixing!!

Forgive my flat lays because they are some of the hastiest and therefore worst ones I have ever done, thanks to Iris blossoming into full throttle toddler during today's visit to Ann Taylor Factory. If you can't tell what something is in a picture, just ask me! ðŸ˜˜ I nearly lost my mind with this sweet girl. ðŸ™ˆðŸ™ˆðŸ™ˆ You'll see her lurking in some of the pics.  Melissa Smith is such a wonderful woman for trying to entertain Iris while I tried to document all the pretty pieces you'll want to add to your wardrobe. 50% off mailers are out and about so be sure to snag one for yourself. Sunglasses are on sale for $10 too.

There are so many options. Dresses, shorts, pants, tees and tanks. That zebra print is killing me, it's so cute with chambray and hot pink. And there's a floral romper pictured below that is surprisingly wearable. It looks meh on the hanger but on, SO CUTE. Check it out. It has pockets and rolled sleeves and makes me seriously consider one-piece dressing. Remember that ATF is just at the north Tanger if you're in Myrtle Beach. If you aren't local, Melissa can ship to you. Call her 843-839-9099. Double points happening next weekend for cardholders too so make the most of your spend.

This stretchy striped top has a boutique feel to it and is really versatile.

This classic gingham dress is Audrey Hepburn worthy! Add black cat eye sunglasses and your favorite flats and pastel cardigan for a perfect timeless look that you can wear to work or church.

Check out the pineapple midi skirt that is pictured on the current mailer. There's a scarf and a cardigan in this print too but the scarf is running low in inventory. I managed to snag one off the mannequin for my wardrobe! :)

If you love teal like I do or you work at CCU, you'll be overjoyed with all of the options in this oceany shade. Tank tops, cardigans, shorts, dresses, necklaces.

I love this lightweight tweed set with the frayed edges. It works well for a number of ages. In the wardrobing room, I spied it on a girl in her twenties and she looked beautiful in it. Together it's a strong and polished look, and separately you can do so much with each piece. Pair the shell with colored capris or a skirt, and wear the shorts with any color top and cardigan for another polished option.

These sleeveless tops are a perfect summer staple. Cool, comfortable dressing and lots of visual interest to elevate a basic tank. They look great paired with the cute shorts below.

I'm not big on loud prints on my tush, but these are really cute and summer is a great time to not take yourself too seriously. Try the elephant shorts with the citron or magenta tanks above. Pair teal, navy or mint with the jungle print.

Here's another look that reminds me of Audrey H. Classic and pretty and strong and beautiful!! The skirt comes in both petite and regular. You'll see more pairings with it below.

How cute would this elephant shirt be with colored jeans? Red, mustard, kelly green.

Here are a few sweet dresses that are just right for warm summer days.

These shorts are really pretty and are the perfect length. These are a soft blush color and have both a scallop hem and embroidery detailing. To balance the sweetness, I paired them with a gingham shirt tied at the waist.

Such a Parisian feel from this outfit! I can't wait to wear my red Tieks with this look. The lemon print scarf is 100% silk and so versatile. Wear it on your neck, wrist, around your ponytail, on top of your hair, or tied to your handbag.

Here's a sweet-tart top in lemon too!
I actually love the top paired with the seersucker ankle pants because the stripe is smaller. This combo below is great if you want a strong look, but if you prefer something softer, try the smaller stripes in the pant, and the top takes center stage.

The clutch is a wallet from Thirty-One Gifts.

Here's the floral romper I mentioned. It looks like a sack on the hanger and will probably be overlooked for that reason, but do yourself a favor and try this on. The look is really fun and versatile. It pairs well with flats or wedges. It's got pockets. If you don't like the romper on, the same pretty print comes in a few different pieces from capris to tops.

More pattern mixing with the striped skirt that I love!
This is another great clutch wallet from Thirty-One. It includes a wristlet strap and a cross body strap.

The zebra skirt is seriously fun! It also looks really boutique to me and works for a range of ages. Here I paired it with a blue shirt and hot pink clutch. It's got more versatility than you may think. Wear it with a white or black top and cobalt flats. Or a magenta tee. Or even a striped jacket pictured above that makes the outfit look like a suit.

Love this true wrap dress. It comes in petite and regular, and with the 50% off sale, it's priced as low as you'd find at Ross or Marshall's. I don't have to tell you how many different ways you can style this little number.

Here's the seersucker ankle pants I mentioned above. See how the lemon tops has the spotlight? It's a great look! I love the pop of red from my favorite necklace.

More zebra love!! Natural colored accessories like this hat give the look a sophisticated safari feel. Add color for a more artsy look.

This golden gingham is so classic! Here you have the look of a romper from a sleeveless tie-waist top paired with side zip shorts. I love the pop of cobalt against the golden mustard shade. This basketweave blazer is so beautiful. I have it in navy. It has the perfect amount of stretch for comfort and looks sleek with the sleeves rolled and pushed up.

Here's a few more looks I made at home.

Hope you enjoyed this installment of Dressing Room Roundup! Treat yourself to something fun and beautiful this Mother's Day. If you don't have an Ann Taylor Factory close by, call Melissa at 843-839-9099 and she can send you a care package.

Weekend Wear: 50-60% Off Spring Finds from Ann Taylor Factory

It's a little chilly for the beach today (just 60-some degrees here with a bit of a breeze. Sorry, spring breakers!), but it's the perfect temp for some spring sale shopping! 😎 Ann Taylor Factory is having a 50% off sale store-wide, plus 60% off dresses. 👗 Scroll through to see a few outfits I made with fresh pieces from their inventory.

I don't work for Ann Taylor. I'm just a long-term fan of their clothes with lots of bonus points on my Ann card.

Navy striped off the shoulder top on markdown:
Pairs well with a choker or long necklace. Here I went for a chic wannabe French babe look with a strawberry-print scarf from LOFT, similar styles available here. There are so many beautiful scarf options to choose from. I would usually do a more colorful scarf but I intend to wear this look with a red lip (and maybe a beret and a baguette?) so I wanted a scarf that coordinated without taking away from the whole look. This top is so comfy and so cute on. I actually asked if I could try it on after seeing it on a very curvy woman. It looked amazing on her (I mean AMAZING), and to my joy, it looked good on me too! Off the shoulder necklines do wonders for visually balancing out fuller hips if that's your thing like it is mine. Can't wait to wear this top on a much needed date night with Bae. ;)
The pants are Ann Taylor Factory Signature cut ankle pants in misses. I usually wear petite but wanted a longer pair of pants than cropped and these were the perfect length on me. They come in a host of colors and patterns and have great stretch. These are the first non-maternity pants I have willfully worn since my love bug was born almost 13 months ago. They also come in curvy if you have a smallish waist and rounder hips. That used to be me, but after baby, my waist is wider and more in keeping with standard size charts so I went with the Signature versus the Curvy. A size 8 worked where a 10 Petite would usually fit.
The wedges pictured are Alex Marie, which is my favorite brand of shoes. They are well made, SO comfortable, and moderately priced. Here's this season's update on the pair I have. Well worth the price. Once I snagged a pair of Alex Marie nude kitten heels with this outstanding comfort gel insole for just $25 on clearance. I kick myself all the time for not buying every pair left in my size.
You'll quickly discover that I am a devotee of a red handbag for the perfect punctuation of color to any outfit. You'll find similar handbags here and here.

Lemon tank with neck detailing. Comes in several colors including mint green and black. Really soft drapey knit that feels cool on.

Signature 5" inseam shorts in dark crosshatch navy. These are the perfect mom length! They are neither camp counselor long nor spring break in Cancun short. They don't ride up. They have pockets. :)

Raspberry cardigan. Available in lots of colors. Coordinating camis available too. These are perfect to wear to an office all summer long (who keeps messing with the A/C???)

For fun, I tied a bow with a scarf. If the scarf would fit all the way around me, I would wear it as a belt but since it doesn't. I just looped the scarf through one of the front belt loops and tied a floppy bow. Kinda cute and a great way to incorporate some color and pattern into the outfit. Find a similar style here.

This dress! It's a beautiful floral, and I never thought it would look great on me since I am pale, but this dress could flatter any skin tone, hair color, or age. I'll be rocking this frock next weekend for Easter church and brunch and to an upcoming wedding at Atalaya Castle. Yup. We have a beautiful beach castle here in SC and it is available for weddings.

This floral print also comes in a scarf, a top, and a pencil skirt so if this dress isn't as versatile for you, try it in one of its other iterations. The necklace is also Ann Taylor Factory and on clearance for just $14.99

Clutch came from TJ Maxx and shoes were a great Belk clearance find. These would look great too.

This dress does some wonderful things for the body. Here it is on me. If you are at all pear-shaped, this dress artfully minimizes the lower half with darker shades and balances your smaller top half with lighter colors. The black band across the middle makes for one chic, slim waistline. This dress is not lined so I will likely wear my Spanx to ensure no belly bumps interrupt the sleek look of the dress.

Dresses are a wonderful value because with a single item, you have an outfit. I love the ease and speed of one-piece dressing too! This one is ideal for the office but can certainly dress itself up for conferences, cocktails, or more casual weddings.

See my post about how to style this dress several ways.
